PG Café

PG Café is an informal gathering for all St Andrews postgraduate students (taught and research), organised by St Leonard’s College. It normally takes place monthly, usually in Old Burgh School, though it has also been held at different venues across the University, such as the Students Union and Gateway (we are open to suggestions!).

St Leonard’s College provides free hot drinks and biscuits, sometimes cakes or doughnuts; you just need to bring yourselves. You can come on your own or with friends, if you prefer, and you can stay for as long as you like. During the café you can meet with PG students from different cohorts, Schools or level of study, and chat in a relaxed setting about anything you like – it doesn’t need to be study-related!

You can also discuss with St Leonard’s College staff, pick up their brains, provide feedback to the College and make suggestions for activities, and any aspect of PG student life at St Andrews.

From time to time, we invite colleagues from other areas of the University, to give you the opportunity to have a discussion and ask questions on a specific topic. In the past, we had representatives from Careers, and we plan to invite reps from Sports and Registry (Changes of Circumstances).

We also try to have an online version of PG Café in Teams, open to any PG student who may not be in St Andrews, including students in our PGT Digital programmes. Unfortunately, you need to provide your own coffee and cake for this, but we hope that the company and networking opportunities would worth it.

Dates and location of PG Café are advertised in our website and our social media. We are looking forward to meeting you at a PG Café soon!
