Social Innovation Sprint

Applications for the Social Innovation Sprint 2024 have now closed.  Please contact [email protected] with any questions.

Who

This two-day intensive workshop is available to all current postgraduate students (PGT / PGR) at the University of St Andrews.

When

The event will run on 14 and 15 May 2024, in person in St Andrews.  Applicants should be available between 9am and 5.30pm on each day.  Lunch will be provided.

Why

The Social Innovation Sprint pairs teams of postgraduate students with a local, national or international charity which has a project they are looking for help with. The projects produce key outputs that the charities can use straight away. Students benefit by developing entrepreneurial mindset skills, such as teamwork, project management and problem solving, and receive an award on their HEAR degree transcript.

What

Project work is interspersed with short workshops to help participants develop transferable skills. Examples of previous charities and projects are:

    • Design a marketing campaign for Nepal Glacier Coffee for The Glacier Trust
    • Research and understand the 18-25 audience to reposition the Level Up social reinvestment initiative for Know You More
    • Help plan an app for children to use to provide feedback on their experience of advocacy support for Partners in Advocacy
    • Creating a brochure to help attract volunteers to work with WORI Uganda
    • Design a conference and celebration event for The Circle
