St Leonard’s College Lecture Series 2023-2024 Call for Papers (.pdf)
St Leonard’s College and the Graduate School for Interdisciplinary Studies invite all St Andrews postgraduate students to submit proposals for papers for the St Leonard’s Lecture Series 2023-2024.
The seminar series aims to provide a platform for all postgraduate students at the University of St Andrews, regardless of level or location, to present and discuss their research with their colleagues across the College; and to encourage interdisciplinary dialogue and exchange of ideas on all aspects of research conducted by postgraduate students.
We welcome original, unpublished papers on any subject. We would particularly encourage papers on interdisciplinary topics, or on the strategic research themes of the University (Peace, Conflict, and Security; Cultural Understanding; Evolution, Behaviour, and Environment; Materials for the Modern World; Health, Infectious Disease, and Wellbeing; Sustainability).
The proposals should not exceed 500 words. Depending on demand, the proposals will be peer-reviewed by a panel of experts and selected based on their quality and originality. The accepted papers will be presented at the St Leonard’s Lecture Series seminar series, which will usually take place bi-weekly on Wednesdays at 4.00pm at Old Burgh School and online. The seminar series may also feature invited speakers from academia, industry, politics, etc.
To submit your paper, please email your proposal to [email protected]. For proposals submitted after 1 October 2023, acceptance will be notified on a rolling basis.
We expect the Lecture Series to start on 27 October 2023. For more information, please contact the seminar series coordinator at [email protected].
We are looking forward to receiving your proposals and seeing you at the seminar series!
